Mark Bussler - Producer/Director

Mark Bussler is a producer and director of high-definition feature documentaries for DVD, HDTV and television. Bussler's high-quality visuals and audio work have earned hundreds of positive reviews nationwide and have set his documentaries apart from the average fare.

Bussler's portfolio includes films narrated by Gene Wilder, Richard Dreyfuss, Keith Carradine, Ronald F. Maxwell and David Carradine. While he began with a budget of less than $1,000 for his first film, Bussler now manages the production of feature length documentary films with budgets in excess of $350,000. Five of his documentaries now air on public television.

Bussler's most recent production, Westinghouse, is a feature-length documentary about the life and times of George Westinghouse, his companies, legacy, personality, partnership with Nikola Tesla and conflict with Thomas Edison.

"A thorough and enlightening biography of one of the cornerstone figures of the electrical age."
              - John Latchem, Home Media Magazine

Classic Game Room, a feature-length comedy film released in 2007, chronicles the rise and fall of the first classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999 and 2000.

"Before there was YouTube, there was Classic Game Room - a tongue-in-cheek documentary
with hosts Bussler and Crosson whose odd sense of humor makes them endearing characters."
             - Adam Hunter, Sokpuppet.Blogspot.com and contributor to MSN

In 2006, Bussler produced World War 1 - American Legacy narrated by David Carradine.

"David Carradine's very effective narration is supplemented with period music; visuals include period art
and illustrations, still and moving images, and contemporary location footage. A good choice."
             - Mary Mueller, School Library Journal

Bussler produced and directed Horses of Gettysburg, which was released in May 2006. Narrated by Ronald F. Maxwell, director of Gettysburg and Gods and Generals, Horses of Gettysburg focuses on the estimated 72,000 horses and mules that served in the battle of Gettysburg and throughout the Civil War.

"This fascinating DVD set is extremely well-written and offers much interesting viewing.  A must-have."
            - Phil Spangenberger, CMSA Rundown

In 2005, Bussler released EXPO - Magic of the White City, narrated by Gene Wilder, which brings to life the Chicago World's Fair of 1893 through a cinematic visit to the World's Columbian Exposition. EXPO - Magic of the White City was Inecom's bestselling title for 2005 and a top seller on Amazon.com, Netflix.com and at Borders stores nationwide.

"One of the year's finest DVD premiere documentaries, this one is a must-watch."
            - Jamie Clark, Video Business

A veteran of several Civil War documentaries, in 2004 Bussler released Gettysburg and Stories of Valor narrated by Keith Carradine. The documentary film produced for HDTV broadcast and DVD contains 30 unique stories that capture the scenic beauty of the Gettysburg battlefield while telling the personal stories of the men who fought there. The DVD became Inecom Entertainment Company's bestselling documentary in 2004 and earned rave reviews nationally.

"Extraordinary research, strong visuals and an inspired soundtrack of voices and effects all bring the
action to life.  Highly recommended. Editor's Choice."
            - T. Keogh, Video Librarian

In 2003, Bussler wrote and directed Johnstown Flood, narrated by Richard Dreyfuss, which recreates the tragedy that claimed an estimated 2,200 lives and wipes out 99 entire families. The flood devastates the 14-mile valley between Conemaugh Lake and Johnstown, Pennsylvania, transforming the bustling industrial city into a wasteland.

Bussler has been featured on the Pennsylvania Cable Network's PCN Profiles, which airs hour-long conversations with prominent state residents each week. He is a 1998 graduate of Bucknell University with a degree in Business Marketing. He was also a 2003 PITTSBURGH magazine and the Pittsburgh Urban Magnet Project (PUMP) "40 Under 40" honoree.
