Chapter List - The Demise of Confederate General Zollicoffer

|
General Felix Zollicoffer commands a brigade, which is part of Major General George Crittenden’s Confederate army of 4,000 men. On a rainy Kentucky night in 1862, the men attack nearby Union soldiers. Humidity and musket smoke reduce visibility. Amidst the confusion, Zollicoffer mistakenly wanders across enemy lines and is shot and killed instantly. The former U.S. Congressman from Tennessee is one of 77 Confederate generals to be killed in action during the war.
