Chapter List - Bullet-torn Jacket in Gettysburg Museum

In June 1863, Private David Myers returns to his Gettysburg home to recover from injuries sustained in the battle at Winchester, Virginia. His bullet torn sack coat is left at home as he returns to battle. Wearing a new uniform, Myers is captured and dies at Andersonville Prison, never returning to his beloved Gettysburg. The jacket he leaves behind remains a rare and fascinating relic of the Civil War.
