At the height of battle, Confederate General Lewis Armistead courageously leads his men directly into the Union line. As the line is breached, Armistead is wounded. Realizing the seriousness of his injuries, he utters a Masonic distress call to those around him. Ironically, Union soldiers recognize the phrase and come to his aid. A man’s convictions can often transcend his reasons for conflict.
